June 2009 CPI Report Released The overall weighted average Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 153.0 in June 2009, down by 0.3 percent in comparison to June 2008, due to movements in the average prices of housing (-4.8%), transport and communication (-4.2%) and clothing (-4.0%).
The June 2009 CPI increased by 0.5 percent compared to the March 2009 CPI as a result of increases in the price indices of all major categories, except food. Increases were highest for clothing (2.9%), household equipment (1.9%) and education and medical (0.8%) while the food price index decreased by 0.2 percent.
