Annual National Accounts Survey FORMS

The Economic and Statistics Office (ESO) has embarked on a project to produce annual national accounts statistics for the Cayman Islands in accordance with the System of National Accounts (SNA) issued by the United Nations Statistical Commission. These accounts are intended to provide a systematic and comprehensive record of the economic activity and performance of the various sectors in the Cayman Islands.

As in all countries that have implemented the SNA, Cayman's national accounts are based on data collected through surveys of businesses, non-profit institutions and government establishments. The Annual National Accounts Survey (ANAS) questionnaire is sent (i.e. mailed or emailed) to all specified, active establishments in the ESO Register of Establishments. An electronic copy of the respective survey form can be downloaded using the links below.

For this year’s survey, some businesses will receive the regular form and others will receive an expanded form. The expanded form collects more detailed expense data to update the Supply and Use Tables (SUT) for the Cayman Islands. Cayman’s first SUT was completed in 2018, using 2015 data and provided a detailed picture of the supply of goods and services (locally produced and imported) and their various uses by local businesses and households. The SUT data is essential for analyzing and forecasting the economic impact of industries, among many other uses. The detailed data request for the SUT was last requested in 2016.

We earnestly seek your cooperation in completing and returning the survey form by JUNE 14, 2024. Completion of the questionnaire is a legal requirement under Sections 11 and 14 of the Statistics Act (2016 Revision) and is therefore MANDATORY. Your response is safe, confidential and will be used exclusively for the compilation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the Cayman Islands. Section 17 of the Statistics Act prohibits the communication or publication of individual or identifiable business information. Statistical information collected by the ESO is exempted and cannot be disclosed using the Freedom of Information Act (FOI).

There are two types of forms for this year’s survey, the regular form and the expanded (SUT) form. The SUT form is labeled Supply & Use Table Questionnaire in the heading in blue text. Please ensure that you download the correct form from the list below.

If you have any difficulty in downloading or completing the questionnaire, please contact Selburn Christian at 244-4676 or [email protected], O’Dayne Plummer at 244-4608 or O'[email protected] or Ms. Francine Wright at 244-4624 or [email protected] or Joseph Anderson at 244-4615 or [email protected].

Make sure to download the SUT form if that is what you received in your survey package.
