Annual National Accounts Survey FORMS

The Economic and Statistics Office (ESO) has embarked on a project to produce annual national accounts statistics for the Cayman Islands in accordance with the System of National Accounts (SNA) issued by the United Nations Statistical Commission. These accounts are intended to provide a systematic and comprehensive record of the economic performance of the various sectors in the Cayman Islands.

As in all countries that have implemented the SNA, Cayman's national accounts will be based on data collected through surveys of businesses, non-profit institutions and government establishments. A hard copy of the SNA Survey questionnaire is sent to all active establishments in the ESO Register of Establishments but an electronic copy can be downloaded from the ESO's website.

For this year’s survey some business will receive a regular form and others will receive an expanded form. The expanded form collects more detailed expense data to facilitate the development of a new statistical program for the Cayman Islands called the Supply and Use Table (SUT).  When completed, the SUT will provide a detailed picture of the supply of goods and services (locally produced and imported) and their various uses by local businesses and households. The SUT data is essential for analyzing and forecasting the economic impact of industries, among many other uses. The detailed data request for the SUT will be undertaken every five (5) years.

We are earnestly seeking your cooperation in completing and returning the survey form by May 20, 2016. Your response is safe, confidential and will be used exclusively for the compilation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the Cayman Islands. Section 17 of the Statistics Law prohibits the communication or publication of individual or identifiable business information. Statistical information collected by the ESO is exempted and cannot be disclosed using the Freedom of Information Law (FOI).

There are two types of forms for this year’s survey, the regular form and the expanded (SUT) form. The heading of the form you received in your survey package will state whether it is a SUT form or not. Please ensure that you download the correct form from the list below.

If you have any difficulty in downloading or completing the questionnaire, please contact Selburn Christian at 244-4676 or selburn.christian@gov.ky , Joseph Anderson at 244-4615 or joseph.anderson@gov.ky or Ivan McLean at 244-4619 or ivan.mclean@gov.ky
